How Renters Insurance Helps To Cover Your Valuables

Imagine for a moment you’ve just returned home from a long day at work to find there’s been a fire, or maybe even a flood. Everything you owned has been destroyed: your flat-screen TV, computer, furniture, books, game consoles, CDs, jewelry, collectibles and clothing. Where will you stay until your apartment is renovated? Who will pay to replace all your belongings? NOT YOUR LANDLORD.

One of the top reasons tenants don't have renters insurance is that they believe their landlords have insurance for them. They may have insurance to cover losses to the building but typically this doesn’t cover the tenants’ personal property.

The benefits of a Farmers renters policy provides coverage for personal property such as: Theft, Fire, Smoke, Water damage from plumbing or air conditioning system or household appliance. And if you can’t live in your home after a covered loss, we cover the additional costs of living, meals, hotels, etc. Your coverage pays up to 12 months, subject to the coverage limits, and no deductible applies. A personal articles floater may be added to your policy, when the value of your personal articles is higher than the limits stated in the policy for items such as: jewelry, furs, fine arts. All policies are tailored to personal needs so please contact our Grand Terrace office for further assistance.

I will personally provide in-depth explanations to any questions regarding a Farmers and/or current policy.
