It’s Boba Time Colton Volunteers to Inspire Young Readers for Read Across America Day

Excited chatter filled the classroom at Paul J. Rodgers Elementary School, as students gathered eagerly on the reading rug, their attention fixed on a brightly illustrated children’s book held by a special guest. Instead of their usual teacher leading the story, a volunteer from It's Boba Time Colton had stepped into the classroom, bringing energy, enthusiasm, and a shared love of reading to the day.

The visit was part of "Read Across America Day," a nationwide effort that encourages children to discover the excitement of books and storytelling. As the volunteer read aloud, students leaned in, listening closely and reacting to the story with curiosity and laughter. For many of them, it was more than just a classroom activity—it was a reminder that reading can open doors to imagination, creativity, and lifelong learning.

For It's Boba Time Colton, the visit marked its second year participating in the school’s Read Across America celebration. The team has embraced the opportunity to step outside the shop and into the community, showing students that businesses can play an active role in supporting education and youth development.

Moments like these highlight the powerful impact of community involvement in local schools. When volunteers take time to read with students, they help reinforce the importance of literacy, while also showing children that their community cares about their success. Exposure to reading at an early age helps build confidence, strengthens language skills, and nurtures a lifelong love of learning.

By simply sharing a story, volunteers can spark curiosity in young readers and create meaningful connections that extend far beyond the classroom.

Community members or organizations interested in partnering with It’s Boba Time Colton for future school or community events can reach the team at ItsBobaTimeColton@gmail.com.
