Metrolink’s Summer Travel begins in May with a celebration of National Bike Month and free fare for riders who board trains with their bicycles during Bike to Work Week, May 15-19.

“Metrolink trains have a dedicated “Bike Car” making our trains bike-friendly and perfect for a summer travel adventure or for riders who use their bikes as part of their commute,” Metrolink CEO Darren Kettle said. “During Bike to Work Week, we invite everyone to bring their bike and take the train for work or play, free for the entire week.”

The National Bike Month festivities include a giveaway worth more than $2,500 – including a brand-new Alpha Murph e-bike from Murph Electric Bikes of San Clemente, an overnight experience at the Inn at the Mission San Juan Capistrano, dinner for two at Trevor’s at the Tracks in San Juan Capistrano and ten roundtrip Metrolink tickets. To learn more about how to enter the giveaway, visit Metrolink’s Bike Month webpage.

Metrolink’s summer travel campaign runs from May through August. It will include the return of the $15 Summer Day Pass, a discounted weekday ticket option that allows riders to enjoy getaway destinations between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

On Thursday, May 18, LA Metro will offer free rides to all riders on all Metro bus and rail lines. Metro Bike Share is also offering free 30-minute rides with promo code 051823. For more information about LA Metro’s Bike Month, visit www.metro.net/bikemonth.

The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) is leading a month-long challenge titled “Get in Gear 2023,” encouraging people to participate in four pledges and enter a chance to win two bike raffle prizes.  More information is available, and pledges can be made at www.octa.net/bikemonth.
