Metrolink, Southern California’s regional passenger rail provider, is offering a budget-friendly, stress-free alternative to holiday traffic this Thanksgiving weekend. From Thursday, Nov. 27, through Sunday, Nov. 30, Metrolink trains will operate a weekend schedule on all lines except the Riverside Line, which does not run on weekends or select holidays. During this time, travelers can enjoy unlimited rides across Metrolink’s six-county network, including the Arrow service, for just $10 per day with the SoCal Day Pass. On Saturday and Sunday, up to three children under 18 may also ride free with each fare-paying adult.

Whether visiting family, heading to a local event or exploring the region, passengers can relax and let Metrolink do the work of driving. Customers also enjoy easy, no-cost transfers to many connecting local transit agencies, including LA Metro.

Amtrak Pacific Surfliner Rail 2 Rail® & Codeshare Blackout Dates

From Nov. 26 through Dec. 1, Amtrak will temporarily suspend the Rail 2 Rail® Program, which allows Metrolink Monthly Passholders to ride free on Pacific Surfliner trains. All codeshare trains that accept Metrolink tickets between Los Angeles and Ventura, will also be impacted due to anticipated ridership demand. These programs will resume on Tuesday, Dec. 2.

How to Ride

To help make Thanksgiving weekend travel as smooth as possible, here are a few tips for enjoying a ride on Metrolink:

  • The SoCal Day Pass is available for purchase on the day of travel via the Metrolink mobile app or at any station ticket machine.
  • Don’t forget to check Metrolink’s train schedule ahead of time to plan your trip.
  • Sign up for Metrolink Alerts to receive timely service updates by email or text.
  • Look for onsite station signage and digital displays to direct you to the correct platform for boarding.
  • Once on board, listen for overhead announcements, including information about upcoming station stops.
