Starting Monday, June 23, 2025, motorists traveling eastbound on Cajalco Road will encounter a weekday detour due to ongoing construction on the Mead Valley Cajalco Corridor Sewer Project.

This important project—funded in part by the American Rescue Plan Act through the County of Riverside—will help Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) meet the infrastructure needs of our growing community.

???? Detour Details:

  • When: Weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

  • Where: Eastbound traffic will be diverted beginning at Barton Road

  • Route: Detour includes Souder Street, with later phases extending to Una Street, Alexander Street, Mead Street, and Brown Street

  • Trucks: Commercial truck traffic is not allowed on the detour. Trucks will be redirected to Wood Rd → Markham St → Day St

???? CHP will be on site to monitor traffic and enforce truck restrictions. EMWD has also repaved the detour route and installed digital signage to help guide drivers safely.

???? Please allow extra travel time, follow all posted signs, and reduce your speed—25 MPH limit on detour routes.
