This week’s winner is Andriana Macias from Colton who has won one of the weekly prizes of a $30 gift card to Woody’s Classic Grill. Although she didn’t win the $1,000 she is still eligible and still walks away with a great prize this week!

Now you have the chance to win too! Visit us online and search for the bag of money on our local business advertisements, click on each ad, enter your contact information and win! No purchase necessary. You may enter every day on every ad with the bag of money icon to increase your chances of winning. We will announce the winner for the month of April on May 1st.

This week’s winner is a third grade teacher for the Colton Joint Unified School District who has directly experienced the impact that COVID-19 has had on teaching.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has changed how I teach. I work from home and everything is online. I miss the ability to meet with students, colleagues, and friends in person,” Macias said.

Macias decided to enter into the Click-N-Win Sweepstakes to try to win one of the $1,000 giveaways and although she didn’t win, she was just as surprised and happy that she had won a gift card.

“I was excited to win the free gift from Woody’s because I enjoy their food,” Macias said.

More and more businesses are now able to open their doors, allow their customers inside and once again thrive within their community. We are also starting to see an impact the COVID-19 vaccinations are having in our counties, now allowing us to come together as a community more and more.

Our local businesses want to continue the positive momentum and give back to the people in their community who support their business and support #shoplocal.

One of those businesses who are deciding to give back to their community is local favorite, Woody’s Classic Grill.

Woody's Classic Grill is a California Surf themed 50's & 60's full service restaurant that serves Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Even though it may not be on a beachfront, Woody’s definitely brings the beach to Grand Terrace, which is perfect for the upcoming warm weather.

Woody’s Classic Grill has in door dining, online ordering, to-go ordering, daily specials, holiday dinner specials perfect for the whole family, a loyalty club and even a merchandise “Woody’s Shop.”

Some of the daily specials include:

·         Monday: All you can eat riblets

·         Tuesday: All you can eat tacos

·         Wednesday: a night of table side magician and kids eat free (with adult meal purchased)

·         Thursday: Steak and all you can eat shrimp

·         Weekends: Prime rib

Woody’s Classic Grill was the first local business to giveaway a prize as a participator in the City News Group, Inc. Sweepstakes program in 2020, a program created to inform the community that their local businesses are still open.

From the restaurant’s inception, Miller emphasized that “we build our business one guest at a time” and in return it creates a strong foundation for their business. “If we can get one guest to come in and they love our food, our service, like the value of our food, then they’ll go out and tell people.”

Woody’s can be compared to a modern day Cheers, because any guest that goes to Woody’s will be greeted with a smile and fully enjoy the friendliness of the employees and eventually everyone will know your name.

“This program is awesome because it rewards not only the people coming to the website, it rewards the businesses, “Miller said. “It’s a win-win situation for everybody.”

We know how hard the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our lives and this program allows City News Group to share and show some positivity to local businesses and to all of the members in the community.

Thank you for going online. Thank you for looking at our local business’ ads. Be sure to share what local businesses you would like to see participate! And please visit our advertisers and tell them how much you appreciate them participating.

A community should support each other and we hope this is a way to bring everyone together again. So keep on coming back because we are here to stay and our local businesses are here to stay!
