Once again the Colton community is a buzz with excitement! The latest addition to the booming economy has opened! CVS’ newest store is a long awaited dream for some and a welcome addition for all. Conveniently and strategically located next to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, the store is sure to be a success. Colton’s Mayor Frank Navarro, along with Councilmembers David J. Toro, Mayor Pro Tem Ernest R. Cisneros, Kenneth Koperski, Dr. Luis S. Gonzalez, Jack R. Woods, and Christy Elshof Economic Development Project Manager, along with Miss Colton Lexie Trujillo were on hand to see this great addition to the city come to fruition.

District Manager for CVS Ken Morris, RPh along with Store Manager Juan Virto thanked the city for welcoming them and reflected upon the fact that all the way through the process, the excitement for a new CVS in the city could be felt. The project has been in the works for quiet sometime explained Mayor Navarro, noting that Councilman Toro has been waiting for this, “Since he was born!” Toro represents District 1, where the new store is located and has been eagerly awaiting the addition to his area.

Morris highlighted the fact that CVS in recent times has made significant changes in their stores in order to align themselves with a healthy community. They began by no longer carrying  tobacco products for sale and are on target to help in the fight for tobacco cessation and are against the vaporization of tobacco products as well. They have also committed to helping in the fight against the opioid epidemic by educating members of the community.

Certificates of recognition from Senator Connie Leyva’s office and the City of Colton were awarded to Virto, welcoming him and his staff to the community and wishing them great success.

Stop on in and support your local businesses that chose to support us! The CVS has a drive thru for added convenience, stop in and say hi to Juan and his team, welcome them to the community and shop local, it matters!
