Dog Park Closure Announced in Grand Terrace for Maintenance Work

Residents of Grand Terrace are being advised that the city’s dog park will be temporarily closed for routine maintenance beginning mid-March.

According to an official notice, the Grand Terrace Dog Park will be closed from March 18, 2026, through April 22, 2026. The closure is necessary to allow for reseeding and fertilization, a process aimed at improving the health and durability of the park’s grass and overall landscape.

City officials say the temporary shutdown is part of ongoing efforts to maintain safe and enjoyable recreational spaces for both pets and their owners. Reseeding helps restore worn turf, while fertilization promotes stronger, healthier growth—especially important in high-traffic areas like dog parks.

During the closure period, residents are encouraged to seek alternative locations for outdoor pet activities. The city has not specified alternate dog park sites but recommends nearby parks that allow leashed pets.

For additional details or questions, community members can contact city services at (909) 954-5200.

The dog park is expected to reopen on April 22, 2026, weather and maintenance progress permitting.
