Employees, Residents, and BBQ Fun

Earlier this month Colton City employees barbecued for the residents of Colton. They set up the grills and food over at Fleming Park and made a day of it. Residents were served hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and refreshing drinks. Both the residents and employees were having fun and it could be seen by the smiling faces all around.

The city decided to host this special so that the city employees could meet its residents and vice versa. Many employees are actually residents of the beautiful city, too.

The employees also wanted to speak to people about voting in the upcoming November election and even registered people to vote.

While the event was attended by many residents and city employees, it far exceeded any expectations. Mayor DelaRosa, Council Members Navarro and Dr. G were also in attendance. Many of the residents even posed with signs in red and yellow that read, “We support Colton city works.”

All in all, it was a great day for the community of Colton to come together and just interact. Residents met city works and everyone made new connections with their city. The community participation was shown by the outpouring of attendees.

The City of Colton wanted to give a big thank you to their Union Teamsters Local 1932 for providing the staff for the day and for Center Point Church for allowing them to use their parking lot. People are already looking forward to the next event like this!
