Doris Ilene (Russell) Trusty went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 17, 2023. She was living at Sacred Heart Home for the Elderly in Beaumont. She was 100 years of age.

Doris was born on May 1, 1922, in Glendora, California. In a day and age when nearly half of the marriages in the US end in divorce, she was married 78 years to her loving husband, James Otho Trusty. They were married at the Nazarene Church in Colton, California on October 16, 1939.

For most of her life, Doris was a homemaker, but during World War II, she served our country grinding lenses for binoculars for the military. She later worked as a sales representative at Edwards Drug Store.

Doris was preceded in death by her mother Hettie Marie (Stowell) Russell, her father, Elson Russell, five brothers (Glenn, Clarence, Leon, Elson, and Bobby), three sisters (Florence, Lena, and Bonnie), her husband James Otho Trusty, and her son Terry Lee Trusty.

Doris loved the Lord and her family.  She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her grandson Terry James (T.J.) Greenside-Trusty and his wife Katerra and her two great-grandchildren, Sylus and Kora. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Doris and Jim lived in Colton for over 50 years before moving to Beaumont in 2009. While in Colton, they faithfully attended Center Point Church. After moving to Beaumont, they attended Fellowship Church, 650 Oak Valley Parkway, Beaumont.

A viewing will be held on Friday, April 28 from 5-8 pm at Colton Funeral Home, 1275 N. La Cadena Drive, Colton. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 29 at 11:30 am at Montecito Memorial Park, 3520 E. Washington St., Colton.
