John A. Gonzales, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, son and friend, entered into eternal life, on November 16, 2018. He was born to Gilbert and Rafaela (Rachel) Gonzales on May 16,1938. John was a lifelong resident of Colton.

John, or Johnnie, as we lovingly called him, was not only a dedicated family man, he was also a dedicated and hard working employee. While a student at Colton High, his employment began at Long's Dairy in Colton. Never without a job, he was then hired at Caldeck, also in Colton, where they made several useful household products.  While John had already met the love of his life, Carmen, he was working toward purchasing a home for he and his family. He then began his career at  Alumax in Riverside and retired after 33 years of service. After retirement, he worked part time for the Colton Joint Unified School District as a custodian.

John will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, selflessness and generosity. He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 61 years, Carmen; 4 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; his brothers, Frank A. Gonzales, Colton; Andrew (Anita) Gonzales, Rialto and Ernesto Zamorano, Colton; Sister in Law Reina Gonzales and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws that loved him dearly.  John was preceded in death by his two sons, John and Tony Gonzales, his parents, and his brother Gilbert Gonzales.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, November 30th, 2018, at The Hermosa Gardens Chapel in Colton. A reception will be held at the Frank A. Gonzales Community Center, in Colton, immediately following interment.
