A photo collage board with clothespins is a creative way to display memories while keeping your wall décor flexible and personal. This DIY project combines a simple backing board with clothespins so photos, notes, and small art pieces can be swapped out easily. Unlike framed collages, this design grows and changes with your life. It works well in bedrooms, offices, hallways, or family spaces where memories are constantly being added. The finished board feels warm, intentional, and full of personality.

This project is beneficial because it encourages storytelling and organization at the same time. Instead of storing photos digitally or tucking them into drawers, you bring memories into daily view. Clothespins make updating the display easy without damaging photos. The project also allows full creative freedom in size, color, and layout. With simple materials and thoughtful planning, this collage board becomes both décor and a memory keeper.

Begin by gathering all materials and preparing a clean workspace. You will need a corkboard, wood board, or canvas, wooden clothespins, string or twine, push pins or small nails, and optional paint or stain. Choose a board size that fits the wall space you plan to use. Lay all items out so you can visualize spacing. Preparing materials first helps the project move smoothly.

Next, decorate the base board if desired. Painting or staining the board adds personality and helps it match your room décor. Apply paint evenly and allow it to dry completely before adding any hardware. A neutral base keeps focus on photos, while bold colors create contrast. This step sets the tone for the entire display.

Once the board is ready, plan the layout of your strings. Mark where the twine will run across the board, keeping lines level and evenly spaced. Attach the twine securely using push pins, nails, or staples, pulling it taut so photos hang neatly. Multiple rows allow more display space and visual balance. Take time to adjust spacing before finalizing.

After string is attached, prepare the clothespins. You can leave them natural or paint them for extra detail. Clip each clothespin onto the string, spacing them evenly across each row. Test a few photos to ensure clips hold weight comfortably. Adjust tension if needed so items do not slide.

Begin adding photos, notes, or artwork to the board. Mix different sizes and orientations to create interest. Step back occasionally to check balance and flow. This part is flexible and can change anytime. The collage grows naturally as memories are added.

To finish, mount the board securely on the wall using appropriate hardware. Avoid overloading one section to keep the board stable. Check attachments occasionally to ensure everything stays secure. With thoughtful care, a photo collage board with clothespins becomes a living display of moments that matter.
