Saturday marked a special day for the city of Colton, celebrating its 132nd birthday at the newly revamped Yellowjacket stadium. Families, friends, and excited onlookers gathered for a good time. “It’s a tradition, we are a family here in Colton and that goes back as long as I can remember. It’s kinda like a family reunion!” says Manny Camacho. Who arrived early to ensure a seat for the highly anticipated fireworks show.  Event goers enjoyed free live performances, games, vendors, and of course the fireworks! There was also a Fun Zone for the kids with unlimited play to entertain them for hours. The event was hosted by City of Colton Community Services Department, whose main function is to connect the community to the programs & services they need.

Assembly member Eloise Reyes presented Mayor Frank Navarro with a congratulatory plaque, and Navarro had this to say, “Thank you to all of our sponsors that made this event possible, to all of our residents, elected officials, appointed commissioners that made time to attend and enjoy a great event in celebration of Colton’s 132nd birthday. Special recognition to our Community Services, Public works, Police and Fire Departments for their support in making our event the success that it was. I am looking forward to and soon to be working on next year’s celebration.”

If you missed the event, don’t worry there is always next year, and City of Colton Community Services Department has the following upcoming events for families to enjoy:
