West Valley Water District held its annual water conservation poster contest depicting the theme, “How Can I Help Conserve Water?” The goal is for students to use their creativity to exemplify the importance of water conservation through artwork.
The district received over 200 student entries from 2nd to 6th grade representing local schools within its district boundaries, voted by staff and Board of Directors.
Winning entries were honored by the WVWD Board of Directors at their June 7, 2018 meeting with certificates of recognition and gift cards to Target, for their hard work and dedication to learning about water.
“WVWD is proud of all the students who participated in this contest and congratulates the winning entries for the creativity in reflecting the importance of conserving water during these crucial times” President Young Said.
The Poster Contest, along with our other education programs, are a way to educate younger generations of the importance of water education and conservation. Winning posters are turned into the District’s yearly calendar that is distributed to WVWD customers and local schools.
